Let me introduce myself....
My name is Carrie, I live in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.
Like most people, finding our passion takes time. This path to a full time artist was a very winding one, and yet excitedly, here I am... loving what I get to do, everyday!
Art has always been a large part of my life, although it has taken many forms and has, at times, been in the background rather than the foreground of professional pursuits. Art was my first passion yet, as it so often does, took a backseat. I was introduced to the concept of art and play therapies while working in the medical field, and was fascinated with combining the arts in a way to help others heal. This started a learning journey that has continued through my career path.
I continue to use art therapeutically today in a private practise, utilizing its many expressions to bring about insight and positive change from children to seniors. In my studio I also get to teach, introducing the magic of acrylic to new beginners at fun "Paint Nights", to individual pursuing more freedom in their work, classes and group workshops.
My Studio is my sacred place where I get to express my love of colour and weave it into each canvas, and venture into new directions. Each day is a step of courage, to push and not be afraid of what my brush may choose to do on a given day...it does take me on adventures!
How wonderful to get to learn each day to Paint Life Laughing!
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
