Let me introduce myself....My name is Carrie, I live in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island.
Like most people, finding our passion takes time. This path to a full time artist was a very winding one, and yet excitedly, here I am... loving what I get to do, everyday! Art has always been a large part of my life, although it has taken many forms and has, at times, been in the background rather than the foreground of professional pursuits. I was introduced to the concept of art and play therapies while working in the medical field, and was fascinated with combining my love of using the arts in a way to help others heal. This started a unique learning and creative journey that has continued through my career path. I continue to use art therapeutically today in a private practise part time, art has the ability to bring about insights and powerful positive changes and it always seems apart of every class. More recently, I wished to bring that sense of empowerment to folks in a fun , step by step process that I called Paint Nights (I originally didn't know it was a "thing") My goal was to help people step into their courage and find an outlet for their creativity in an easy beginner format. Thus my evening Paint Nights were born. This led to my working with solo with artists and art groups who were seeking coaching in how to "let go" and learn to listen to their own vision. It is a gift to watch people push the fear and embrace their courage of something new. It is energizing. My Studio continues to be my sacred place. It is where I get to express my own love of colour and weave it into each canvas as I too venture into new directions. Each day IS a step of courage, to push and not be afraid of what my brush may choose to do on a given day, to listen deeply...it does take me on adventures! How wonderful to really Paint Life Laughing! |

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
